1978 Fender USA Jazz Bass Guitar .
If you are after an mint all original example then this will not be for you , but if you are after something different and looking for a players grade example then this could be for you .
As you can see from the photos the body has been refinish ( not clear coated ) with the original pickguard holes filled and where a battery compartment once was . It also has been modded with a scoop to the bottom horn possible to allow access to the higher frets .
I personally think it looks pretty cool as it is , but have also photographed it with a pickguard if wanted to add one but decided to leave it to the new owner to decide as once the holes have been drilled you can go back .
The pickups looks to be original as do the electrics but please checkout all the photos to make up your own mind as I am no expert on this era of basses.
Even with saying all the above the bass plays and sounds great with that classic 70s Jazz bass tone and not too heavy compared to other late 70s jazz basses I have played.
Take into account the body even though refinished has not been clearcoated so if you use a polish some of the finish comes off (ever so slightly ) .
Considering all original versions are selling for over 3k I think the price is fair.
