rare 1920s Ludwig Stratford Plectrum Banjo which was made in the USA at the height of the Jazz Banjo era.
Very ornate and extremely well made instrument.
From what I can gather, this model has a Walnut neck, ebony fingerboard with ornate brass rim with inlayed pot.
As you can see from the pictures it is a really nice rare example from Ludwig which rarely come up for sale especially in the UK.
One string broke just after the photos, would recommend a setup and restring as it has not been used in a while.
The overall condition of the instrument is good for something which is around 100 years old, it does have some playing marks and the back of the pot does show wear especially around the marquetry - the back of the headstock at the tip has taken a knock but is purely cosmetic
Comes with a non original hard case.
